Nicola was delighted to be invited to form part of a panel at the annual Money Marketing in Focus conference on Wednesday 6 December 2017 at County Hall, London.
Pensions specialist
Money Marketing in Focus is an event for financial advisers and planners in the retirement market. The day consisted of various presentations and panel discussions, but the session Nicola was involved in focused on what might happen next in the Defined Benefit Pension market.
Alongside Steve Jenkins, Development Director at the Chartered Insurance Institute and Peter Bradshaw of Selectapension (a provider of pension and investment planning tools), Nicola fielded questions from the 200 strong audience about her opinions on current issues and challenges in the market, and how the final salary pension market might develop going forward.
Good practice and quality advice
Amongst the questions raised, calling on her experience in this niche area of financial planning and advice, Nicola was able to share her opinions on what is good practice and how the regulator should be looking more closely at the quality of advice being provided by some advisers (the subject of recent FCA reviews).
On a lighter note, many of you know or perhaps have witnessed Nicola’s straight talking approach. In a day of heavy, technical discussion, one such example raised the biggest laugh of the day! Rather than committing this to paper, Nicola is more than happy to tell you the story, next time you see her!
