What our Accredited and Chartered status means for you

A Professional Adviser report back in 2021 found that there were more than 5,000 financial adviser and planning firms in the UK.

Of those, 14% (around 700 companies) are Chartered while fewer than 60 hold Accredited status. Just a handful of UK firms hold both.

At Jane Smith Financial Planning we are proud to be Chartered and Accredited.

These gold standards of our profession acknowledge our expertise and professionalism within the field, but they aren’t just a badge of honour for us. They’re great news for you too.

Keep reading to find out why.

Chartered status indicates our public commitment to professionalism and integrity

The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) has been raising standards in the finance sector for more than 100 years.

By awarding Chartered status, the CII rewards those individuals and firms committed to maintaining standards of excellence in qualifications, ethics, business practices and professional development.

Our Chartered status highlights our customer-first approach and also ensures our values align with a professional Code of Ethics – both great news for you.

We’ll always provide solutions to meet your specific needs, maintaining our knowledge through qualifications and ongoing professional development.

As evidence of our ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving our knowledge, look no further than our trainee financial adviser, Thomas McGinn.

Trainee financial adviser Thomas is a great example of our ethos of promoting self-improvement and development

Thomas has worked hard throughout his time with us and already holds a diploma in financial planning, having successfully completed the R01 to R06 exams.

Recently, Thomas also passed the J10 exam, which not only awarded him a certificate in “Discretionary Investment Management” but also aligns with his development roadmap to become a Chartered and certified financial planner himself.

Thomas hopes to take his next exams in early 2024.

Jane Smith’s Accredited status means we’re a firm you can trust

We have also been awarded Accredited status from the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI).

Accredited planners and advisers represent the most trusted financial planning firms in the UK.

Accreditation recognises our commitment to the highest ethical and professional standards, aligned with the CISI’s Code of Conduct. It also confirms our full and thorough financial planning service that encompasses cashflow modelling as standard and a clearly communicated and transparent proposition.

Accredited status is held by only a small percentage of UK firms and achieving this recognition alongside Chartered status means that you and your money are in safe hands.

Our Chartered and Accredited status means we’re committed to helping you achieve the best possible outcomes

To achieve these “gold standards” in our profession, Jane Smith Financial Planning has demonstrated a high level of expertise, a commitment to ethical standards, and a determination to constantly improve.

In an economic climate of changing legislation, unpredictable markets, and a cost of living crisis, the peace of mind you’ll experience when you work with us is invaluable.

You’ll know you are working with professional and expert advisers at the top of their game.

We’re transparent about our charges and processes and committed to putting a long-term financial plan in place that works for you.

Remember that we can help you to form an initial plan. After that, we’ll be there alongside you every step of the way. This might mean helping you manage your pension, investments, or even your estate planning.

And if you appreciate the high-quality service we provide, you might consider recommending us to friends and family members.

Word-of-mouth recommendations – alongside our VouchedFor rating (4.9 out of 5 from 103 reviews) – are one of the main ways we grow our business. So, if you know anyone that would benefit from the same financial peace of mind that you enjoy, be sure to pass our details on.
