What’s been happening? July 2019

Nicola attended a networking event that was chocolate tasting – unfortunately she didn’t bring any back to the office! This has definitely been added to our list of possible client events to keep an eye on for the future. During the same week in June, Nicola and Hannah had the lucky job of manning the cake stall at the Harrold Pit Run, which we sponsored. There were some amazing cakes entered and it was great fun as always. With the year marching on, Nicola is working on her presentation at the Financial Times Adviser Forum in September, which includes speaking preparation – cue lots of enunciation and projection practice!

We had our six-monthly offsite strategy day on the 25th June and all we can say, is what a day! We have set our objectives and made some big decisions about what we want to achieve in the next year. It’s always an intense day of asking the questions that don’t have easy answers and sometimes mean we have to change our perspective and plan completely. We have been having these six-monthly days for a while now and they really have become invaluable to the business and also for the team.

The most important news of the month was obviously Poppy’s dog show win. She won a lovely toy which lasted all of a week before it was destroyed. The monkey has already had emergency surgery to retain his stuffing and Poppy was by his side throughout.

We’re very excited to announce that Clare has been shortlisted for the CISI Paraplanner of the Year 2019 award. This in itself is a big deal as it was open to any Paraplanner in the UK and was then whittled down to just five, one of which being our Clare! There’s a couple more steps for her to go through but we’re crossing our fingers and wishing her the best of luck!

We are sad to announce that Michael (who many of you will have dealt with in providing us updates ahead of your meetings) has decided to move on from Jane Smith and take up a new challenge elsewhere. We wish him the best of luck with his next steps. Rest assured the rest of the team are still here should you need any help and there will be no adverse impact on the day to day service you receive.
