What we’ve been up to September 2019

Where do we start? First and foremost, we have to say thank you to each and every one of you that donated to our charity walk for the British Heart Foundation. We raised more than we ever could have dreamed of and that’s down to your generosity – thank you! We were surprised with an extra honorary team member for part of the walk – Nicola’s dad decided to walk with us which was an extra incentive for us to push on to the end. After all, if he could do it after heart surgery, we really should get on with it! It was a challenge for the whole team and we have the blisters to prove it! We’re all chuffed to bits with our achievement and how much we’ve raised, in excess of £1,500 so far. If you haven’t donated yet and would like to, there’s still time – Just Giving – Thank you.

A few months ago, we were approached by Financial Times Adviser, asking Nicola to speak at their first ever adviser forum in September. It was another challenge for Nicola, pushing her out of her comfort zone, speaking to approximately 400 attendees over the two events in London and Birmingham. Understandably there were some nerves, but Nicola felt it went really well and she may even have enjoyed it – just a little.

Not only did Nicola speak at the two FT Adviser Forums this month but she also had to sit through an intense panel interview, as we have been shortlisted for an industry award and this involved Nicola travelling to London to be interviewed by the panel. We’ve made it to the last two finalists and are now keeping everything crossed for the final announcement. Hopefully, we’ll have positive news for you in the next newsletter, but whatever the outcome we’re thrilled to have got this far.
